An Introduction

Since 2003 I have lived on the Greek island of Symi in the Dodecanese where I love to create photographic images of the people, the scenery and the amazing light of the Aegean. Symi Art is  my website.

Originally from Leicester in England I have become an internationally active Graphic Designer and was fortunate enough to win the International Visual Communications Award in 2003.

I studied at the Leicester School of Print and at De Montfort University, where I took a degree in Graphic Design and Illustration. Photography was an integral part of both the diploma and the degree courses, and it was then that I grew to love the medium, and appreciate  the concept of photography as ‘painting with light’.

I worked for a year as a support lecturer at De Montfort  before moving into the corporate field for six years. In 2003 I decided to go freelance and moved with my partner to Symi, our favourite place in Greece. Inspired by the dramatic and ever changing light I have found that photography has been taking up an increasing part of my free time.
